Aon Corporation has announced the appointment of Bill Pieroni as global chief information officer.
Mr. Pieroni comes to Aon from Armonk, N.Y.-based IBM, where he was head of that company's Global Insurance Industry Practice.
Chicago-based Aon said Mr. Pieroni will be responsible for global Aon information -related activities. He will be based in Chicago. A company spokesman said the global CIO position has been vacant for more than a year and that filling it was a priority for new CEO Gregory Case, who joined the company in April of this year.
