Mike Paschke, executive vice president of Brown & Brown, Inc., has been named the new chairman of The Council of Employee Benefits Executives (CEBE).

Christopher J. Nadeau, principal and practice leader with the employee benefits practice of William Gallagher Associates of Boston, was named vice-chairman.

The CEBE is a standing committee of the Washington, D.C.-based The Council of Insurance Agents & Brokers. It is charged with overseeing the association's services for member firms with employee benefit operations.

Both Mr. Paschke and Mr. Nadeau were elected to two-year terms at the fourth annual Employee Benefits Leadership Forum held this week at The Greenbrier in White Sulphur Springs, WVa.

Mr. Paschke takes over the leadership of the board from Charles J. Falvey, vice president, carrier relations, health & welfare, for USI New York.

Mr. Paschke runs Brown & Brown's Phoenix office the fourth largest retail office in the Brown & Brown organization. He also serves on the executive committee of the Daytona Beach, Fla.-based insurance brokerage firm.

CIAB also announced that seven new benefits executives joined the CEBE Board. They are: Michael D. Craford, managing principal at Craford Benefit Consultants, San Rafael, Calif.; James Czesak, chief operating officer, employee benefits service, ABD Insurance & Financial Services, Torrance, Calif.; Peter S. Gruenberg, executive vice president, Fleet Insurance Services, Cranford, N.J.; George Ketchel, managing director, Marsh in Denver; Thomas L. Mangan, president, employee benefits with Hub International Northeast, New York; Charles Rosson, senior vice president, benefits practice leader, Woodruff-Sawyer & Company, San Francisco; and James Stark, executive vice president, national practice leader, Aon Consulting, San Francisco.
