Brian Kensil was named to the newly created position of chief operating officer at Folksamerica Reinsurance Company.
A spokeswoman for the reinsurance carrier, which is a subsidiary of Bermuda-based White Mountains Re Group, Ltd., said Mr. Kensil, 47, joined Folksamerica nine months ago as senior vice president of administration where he oversaw the contract and treaty service department and the risk management department.
He was the CFO at Converium North America before joining Folksamerica.
Folksamerica's claims, information technology, human resources and administration departments will report to Mr. Kensil in addition to the departments he currently supervises, the company said.
