St. Paul Travelers Co-COO Moves To OneBeacon
NU Online News Service, April 11, 4:12 p.m. EST?After just two months at his newly promoted position, The St. Paul Travelers Companies' Co-Chief Operating Officer T. Michael Miller said he is leaving the insurer to join OneBeacon Insurance as its COO.[@@]
Mr. Miller had been named Co-COO at the St. Paul, Minn.-based insurer on Feb. 1 and was put in charge of the company's specialty business and regional executive organization. Mr. Miller has been with The St. Paul Travelers for the past 10 years. Previously, Mr. Miller worked at Chubb Corp. for 14 years.
The COO post at OneBeacon Insurance is newly created by the Boston-based insurer, which said it hopes Mr. Miller's expertise in specialty markets will help the company's expansion in the specialty-insurance arena.
The St. Paul Travelers said it has not yet named Mr. Miller's successor. The insurer said it will be making related organizational announcements in the near future.
OneBeacon Chief Executive Officer John Cavoores said Mr. Miller's "knowledge of the specialty markets will accelerate our transformation into a highly-segmented, specialty carrier."
OneBeacon Insurance offers various specialty, personal and commercial insurance products and services sold primarily through independent agents. OneBeacon is wholly owned by Hamilton, Bermuda-based White Mountains Insurance Group.
