PIA West Elects 1st Officers

NU Online News Service, April 15, 4:03 p.m. EDT?The Professional Insurance Agents Western Alliance, which was formed last year, has elected John Desmarteau as its first president.[@@]

Mr. Desmarteau is owner and partner in Beaver State Insurance Agency in Salem, Oregon. He will serve for a term of one year.

Also elected for one-year terms were: Leonard Freeman, owner of Freeman & Pearce Insurance Agency of Orange, Calif., as president-elect; Kevin O'Connell, chief sales officer at Talbot Hub International in Great Falls, Mont., vice president; Paul Fossett, senior vice president, The Insurance Exchange in Albuquerque, N.M., secretary; and Jack McCalmant, owner and partner of Big Bend Insurance Agency of Spokane, Wash., as treasurer.

Other members of the Western Alliance board are: PIA National President Terry Adams, owner of Reinholdt and O'Harra Insurance in Ashland, Ore.; PIA National President-elect Ray L. Peretti, owner of Hub Insurance Agency in Renton, Wash.; and Richard Henningsen, owner of the Henningsen Agency in Butte, Mont.

The PIA Western Alliance represents agents in Washington, Alaska, Oregon, Idaho, Montana, Arizona, California, New Mexico and Nevada.
