Willis CEO Plumeri Gives His College $2.5 Million

NU Online News Service, 2:04 p.m. EST?Joseph J. Plumeri, chairman and chief executive officer of Willis Group Holdings, has given $2.5 million to the College of William and Mary, School of Business.[@@]

Mr. Plumeri, a graduate of the college, serves as a trustee of the William and Mary Business School Foundation and is on the Board of Visitors of the Williamsburg, Va., college. He remains highly involved in other activities at the institution.

The gift to the college's business school goes to a $100 million-plus fund-raising campaign the college has underway.

"The Business School shares the passion I feel for business," said Mr. Plumeri in a statement. "Business education is all about training future business leaders to communicate and work effectively with the people who really are the heart and soul of corporations."

"Joe Plumeri has made a major investment in the future of business education at William and Mary," said Dean Lawrence B. Pulley. "We are honored that Joe has put his stake in the ground as a key enabling leadership donor for the Business School. His gift will inspire others."
