D.C. Lobbyist Joins IIABA

NU Online News Service, July 25, 2:16 p.m. EST?A former Washington, D.C., lobbyist has joined the Independent Insurance Agents & Brokers of America as the association's director of public affairs and media relations.[@@]

Emily Crane, formerly with Campbell-Crane and Associates, will serve as the communication liaison for trade and consumer print media on all non-legislative issues, said Cliston L. Brown, the Alexandria, Va.-based association's director of public affairs and media relations.

She will also serve as the communication liaison for various IIABA programs including InVEST, Best Practices, Trusted Choice and other programs.

At Campbell-Crane, Ms. Crane coordinated the firm's fundraising activities, arranged meetings with members of Congress and staff, and provided legislative research on various economic and health care issues. She gave logistical support to clients including The Chubb Group, American Burn Association, Raytheon, Merck & Co., and others.

She also did press outreach during the 2004 election campaign for the Louisiana Democratic Party.
