Cusumano To Be Ace General Counsel
NU Online News Service, Jan. 26, 9:00 p.m. EST?Ace Limited announced the appointment today of Robert F. Cusumano as general counsel, to succeed Peter Mear, who is retiring.[@@]
Mr. Cusumano will take his post on March 1. Mr. Mear, 61, who has served as general counsel of Ace since 1996, plans to develop a legal consulting practice in Texas, the company said.
Until his retirement later this year, Ace said Mr. Mear will work on various matters including supporting Mr. Cusumano in his transition at Ace and assisting with the further development of the company's Global Ethics & Compliance Office.
Mr. Cusumano, 48, has been a litigation partner and head of the Insurance Litigation Practice in the New York office of the Debevoise & Plimpton law firm.
