What Senn Dunn Means To Me
As I listened with excitement to the honor that Senn Dunn has received as National Underwriter's 2004 "Commercial Insurance Agency of the Year," I couldnt help but think of how proud I am to be associated with this agency and how personally this award struck me.
If anyone knows the type of agency Senn Dunn truly is, it's me. Senn Dunn is unsurpassed in the many wonderful, caring and thoughtful things it does for its employees. I would like to let you know first-hand what a powerful impact they've made on one employee.
I have been an employee of Senn Dunn for about a year-and-a-half. (I am a client services coordinator at the agency.) I was diagnosed with breast cancer on Jan. 20, 2004. From the day of my diagnosis until today (as I prepare for my radiation treatments) Senn Dunn has surrounded me with love, prayers and encouragement.
As I was going through my chemotherapy treatments (a four-to-five month time frame), I could count on every Monday, Wednesday and Friday that dinner would be delivered to my home by members of my Senn Dunn family. They have brought gifts for my children, made Easter Baskets for my family, made a Father's Day cake for my husband, and taken my eight-year-old son to the zoo. As you can see, my family has been taken care of just as well as I have been during this difficult time.
With daily cards of encouragement, my co-workers let me know that they were thinking of me even when I wasn't strong enough to be with them. My supervisors have given me complete freedom and judgment to discern when I was able to come into work without the threat of pressure of adverse feelings when I wasn't up to it.
In May 2004, Senn Dunn formed a team for the "Relay for Life" to raise money for cancer research. It was called the Senn Dunn "Marchin' Rhondas." What a privilege it was for me to have my name associated with such a wonderful cause that is so close to my heart. They were successful in raising over $8,000 and many spent the night walking the track at Page High School, in Greensboro, N.C., in support of me, and others like me, who are hoping for a cure to our disease.
From the many friends who always want to know what they can do for me, to the enormous amount of time and energy they put into taking care of me and my family, Senn Dunn has no equal.
As I tell this story to other friends of mine, they are always astounded as to how any employer could or would give so much to one of its employees as Senn Dunn has given to me. It still amazes me every day! I will be forever grateful for their love and generosity.
