Morrison To Retire From Vice Chairman Post At Allied World Assurance

BERMUDA-BASED Allied World Assurance Holdings Ltd. has announced that Michael I.D. Morrison, their vice chairman and former
chief executive officer, will retire Oct. 1. Mr. Morrison, who was CEO when the company was founded three years ago, handed over that position to Scott Carmilani this past January. He will remain as a director, Allied said.

Mr. Morrison noted that when he came to the company in Bermuda, in 2001, there were just three of us, with one other person in London. He added that since then, weve grown to almost 200, including our contracted support service personnel, in our various offices.

Besides its Hamilton, Bermuda-based company, Allied has two U.S. surplus lines companies with offices in Boston and New York. The firm also has subsidiary insurance and reinsurance companies inDublin, Ireland.
