NAMIC Hires New Fed Lobbyist

NU Online News Service, Dec. 27, 11:29 a.m. EST–The National Association of Mutual Insurance Companies said that Justin Roth has been named senior director-government affairs in its Washington, D.C., office.[@@]

The Indianapolis, Ind.-based carrier association said Mr. Roth's appointment would become effective Jan. 10.

He was formerly a senior lobbyist with the Alexandria, Va.-based Independent Insurance Agents and Brokers of America.

Mr. Roth spent close to four years with the IIABA. Prior to that, he was a legislative assistant to former Florida Congressman Joe Scarborough, and former Florida State Senator, Anna Cowin, both Republicans.

The NAMIC's Washington lobbying team, in addition to Mr. Roth, includes David A. Winston, NAMIC federal affairs senior vice president and Marliss A. Browder, federal affairs director.
