Burke & Hammond Join JLT Board
NU Online News Service, Dec. 22, 10:00 a.m. EST--Jardine Lloyd Thompson Group, plc, said Dominic Burke and Mike Hammond will join the insurance brokers' board, effective Jan. 1.[@@]
Mr. Burke, who joined the London-based firm in 2000, is responsible for JLT's United Kingdom insurance broking and employee benefits business and JLT Services in America. In addition, he was appointed group chief operating officer, reporting to the executive chairman, Ken Carter.
Mr. Hammond joined JLT earlier this year and since September has been chief executive of JLT Risk Solutions Ltd, the firm's largest operation. He also is responsible for industry focus groups and will continue to report to the executive chairman as will the other members of the group executive committee.
In addition, John Lloyd will assume the role of chairman and chief executive of Lloyd & Partners Ltd.?a new wholesale subsidiary of JLT?as of Jan. 1. Mr. Lloyd retires from the board of JLT Risk Solutions Ltd as of Dec. 31.
In his capacity as executive chairman, Mr. Carter will also act as chairman of JLT's USA Risk and Insurance operations, also effective Jan. 1.
