Charles Halsey has joined Willis as senior vice president and office leader of the Las Vegas location. Joining him will be Dianne McClyment and Vicki Campion. All three were formerly with Marsh, Willis said.
Mr. Halsey brings 30 years of insurance industry experience to the new location, most recently working in the Marsh Las Vegas office where he was a client executive and in new business development for over 12 years. Both Ms. McClyment and Ms. Campion were employed with Marsh as client service professionals in the Marsh Las Vegas office.
H. David Wood, regional executive officer of Willis California/Western region, said in a statement that while the broker has a significant presence in the gaming and construction industry in Nevada, the opening of the new office will enhance the firm's presence in the local business community.
London-based Willis' acquisition of Opus, a United Kingdom regional insurance broking and group benefits consulting firm, is from the European buyout firm Bridgepoint Capital Limited. Willis said Opus will be merged with Willis UK & Ireland.
Terms of the deal were not disclosed.
With revenues of approximately ?13 million (more than $25 million at current exchange rates), Willis said the merger would not include Opus' financial advisors group to private individuals, which, for regulatory reasons, will trade as a separate entity, Willis said.
Willis announced its intent to acquire Opus in early November.
