Willis Chief Keynotes RIMS In April
NU Online News Service, Nov. 22, 1:46 p.m. EST?The head of Willis Group brokerage, which recently announced it would stop accepting controversial contingency fees, will be the keynote speaker at the Risk and Insurance Management Society's annual conference next April.[@@]
RIMS said Joe Plumeri, Willis chairman and chief executive officer, will speak April 18, 2005, on "Can the Insurance Industry Deliver?"
The society said that educational sessions that will be held include, "Broker Contingency Fees?What You Should Know," "Sarbanes-Oxley: Evolution of D&O Insurance Coverage," "Fiduciary Responsibility After Enron: Getting the Coverage You Need," and "Benchmarking Cost of Risk: New Tools, Better Information."
Mr. Plumeri's talk will be followed by RIMS annual membership meeting session. The group's conference and exhibition are scheduled for April 17-21, 2005, in Philadelphia.
The New York-based association said it has confirmed more than 120 educational sessions, 400 exhibitors and numerous industry experts for the annual event for risk management professionals. The title of the conference is "We the People?Driving Risk Management."
Other highlights of RIMS 2005 include a moderated discussion with Susan Rivera, president and chief executive officer, ACE USA, and Debra Rodgers, vice president risk management, ARAMARK Corp., on timely industry questions and issues.
Stephen M. Wilder, vice president of risk management for the Walt Disney Company, will address managing risk for one of the world's most famous entertainment enterprises in his presentation, "Risk Management at Disney."
The conference program, highlighting the sessions as well as key speakers, has been distributed to the more than 10,000 risk professionals that are expected to attend the meeting.
