Trade Center Jury Still Without Verdict
NU Online News Service, Nov. 23, 9:14 a.m. EST?The jury deliberating in the World Trade Center insurance dispute case was due to resume talks this morning after no decision was reached last night.
At issue is Trade Center leaseholder Larry Silverstein's claim that the terrorist destruction of the Twin Towers represents two events requiring double compensation.
The case on trial is the second of this nature and involves nine insurers. A complete verdict in Mr. Silverstein's favor would double the $1.1 billion in coverage involved.
