Roth Named RIMS Exec Director
NU Online News Service, Oct. 20, 3:44 p.m. EDT?The Risk and Insurance Management Society announced that Mary Roth, formerly the group's chief operating officer, has been named executive director.[@@]
The appointment putting Ms. Roth in the post formerly held by Jack Hampton is effective immediately.
In making the announcement, RIMS president Nancy Chambers said, "For the nearly two decades that Mary Roth has been with RIMS, she has repeatedly demonstrated her leadership abilities and dedication to our Society and its members. We look forward to her leading the staff as they implement RIMS initiatives in the coming years."
Ms. Roth, who was named chief operating officer in July, joined New York-based RIMS in 1985. She has served in such roles as assistant director of research and director of membership and chapter services.
In 1999 she was appointed deputy executive director and played a key role in managing RIMS headquarters and staff activities including elements of the budget and working to keep the organization in line with its business strategy.
Mr. Hampton resigned to return to the private sector, RIMS said.
