Latham Named Markel CIO
NU Online News Service, Oct. 15, 3:15 p.m. EDT?John K. Latham has been promoted to chief information officer and senior vice president of Markel Corp., which markets and underwrites specialty insurance products and programs for a variety of niche markets.[@@]
His previous position at the Glen Allen, Va.-based firm was president and chief operations officer of Markel Re, a wholly owned subsidiary of Markel Corp., the company said.
Prior to joining Markel Re in 2003, from 1991 to 2002, Mr. Latham was president and CEO of Colony Insurance Company, a subsidiary of Argonaut Insurance Company. He also served on the board of directors of Rockwood Casualty Company, another Argonaut subsidiary.
