Therapist Net To Serve 2 Comp Mgmt. Firms
NU Online News Service, Aug. 17, 10:57 a.m. EDT?PTPN, the network of independent rehabilitation therapists, announced that it will provide outpatient rehabilitation services for two national workers' compensation injury management firms.[@@]
PTPN said it had made arrangements with American Health Synergy, based in Nashville, Tenn., and Universal SmartComp, based in Canonsburg, Pa.
American Health Synergy and Universal SmartComp are both workers' compensation companies that will direct their clients' injured workers to PTPN providers for rehabilitation services, the company with headquarters in Calabasas, Calif. said.
"We look forward to joining forces with these prestigious organizations to provide their patients with convenient access to the best quality outpatient rehabilitation care," said Michael Weinper, PTPN president and chief executive officer.
The PTPN network counts more than 1,100 provider offices (including physical, occupational and speech therapists) in 23 states.
PTPN said it contracts with most of the major managed care organizations in the nation, including insurers, workers' comp companies, preferred provider organizations, health management organizations and medical groups. Only offices that are owned and operated by independent practitioner rehabilitation therapists can be members of the network.
American Health Synergy provides clients' workers' compensation cases with scheduling and case supervision and a network of preferred providers. American Health synergy clients include workers' compensation insurers and third-party administrators, as well as self-insured employers.
Universal SmartComp specializes in medical coordination and cost containment of workers' compensation injuries. It services insurance carriers, insured and self-insured employers, managed care companies, and agents and brokers.
