ACT Offers Tech Update Forum

NU Online News Service, Sept. 9, 11:36 a.m. EDT?The latest real-time interface technology breakthroughs and security safeguards will be highlighted when the Agents Council for Technology holds a seminar next month in Florida.[@@]

The workshop will be held Oct. 11 as part of the Independent Insurance Agents & Brokers annual meeting Oct. 9-12 in Orlando Fla.

The workshop seminar, titled "Breaking Through to SEMCI While Protecting Agency Security," is scheduled to feature a discussion on the significant progress being made to achieve the independent agents' vision of SEMCI?single-entry, multiple-company interface?and security issues agents must deal with to protect their automation systems.

Bob Slocum, ACT chairman and president of The Slocum Agency, located in Warwick, R.I., will moderate the discussion.

The workshop presenters are John Kellington, senior vice president and chief technology officer for Ohio Casualty Group; Brian Bartosh, president, Top O' Michigan Insurance; Alvito Vaz, director, Agent Internet Systems for Progressive Insurance; and Jeff Yates, ACT executive director.
