State Farm Ranked 7th In Customer Recognition
NU Online News Service, June 25, 12:31 p.m. EDT?State Farm Insurance was the top ranking property-casualty insurance company in a poll that measured customer recognition and satisfaction with financial services and insurance brands.[@@]
The survey, conducted by Rochester, N.Y.-based The Harris Interactive, known for the Harris Poll, said that State Farm Insurance ranked number seven in the survey's top 10 Equity index of Financial Services-Insurance brands.
Visa was number one in the category.
Of other insurers, the health insurer Blue Cross/Blue Shield Insurance was ranked fourth. USAA Financial Services, a provider of personal lines insurance and other financial services for military personnel was ranked tenth.
The survey asked participants to assess brands by different categories: Familiarity, Quality, Purchase Intent, Brand Expectations, and Distinctiveness. Harris used an equation involving the respondent's evaluation scale answers to come-up with its Equity index to create the rankings.
The online survey contacted 24,046 consumers aged 15 and older between April 23 and May 24 of this year. The total number of brands rated was 1,031 in 35 categories.
The financial services and insurance brands category involved 59 brands, Harris said.
The overall number one brand was Reynolds Wrap Aluminum Foil, followed by Hershey's Milk Chocolate Candy Bars, and Ziploc Food Bags.
Harris said that the survey, 2004 edition of EquiTrend, has a databank dating back to 1989.
