Lehmann To Lead Zurich North America Commercial
NU Online News Service, June 8, 3:21 p.m. EDT?Zurich Financial Services said it has selected Axel Lehman to become the new chief executive officer of Zurich North America Commercial in September.[@@]
Mr. Lehman succeeds John Amore, who, the company said in April, will assume a global leadership role as chief executive of Zurich Financial's general insurance business.
As chief executive of Zurich North America Commercial, Mr. Lehmann, 45, will oversee all general insurance activities by Zurich North America. In his new role, Mr. Lehmann will receive reports from the heads of various Zurich North America units and, on behalf of Zurich Financial's group executive committee, provide leadership for the U.S. small-business strategy development.
Mr. Lehmann first joined Zurich in 1996 and held various positions in corporate development and executive management. He was appointed to the group management board in 2000 and joined the group executive committee as the chief executive of the Continental Europe Business Division in March 2002.
