AIG Launches New Tech Service For Agents
NU Online News Service, May 27, 11:28 a.m. EDT?American International Group Inc. said it is launching a new submission status and policy retrieval system for agents and brokers dealing with its subsidiary AIG Small Business.[@@]
The New York City-based insurer said the new service, AIG eDelivery, allows registered users to check account status, view underwriting contact information, and download and print AIG Small Business policies and endorsements.
The system supports AIGSB Commercial Umbrella, Management Liability, Financial Institutions and Professional Liability lines of business and can be accessed without any external software.
AIG said registered users receive an e-mail alert for all policies or endorsements added to the system through real-time account tracking. The policies or endorsements will then be stored in a personal electronic filing cabinet where they can be searched and sorted by a variety of criteria.
In 2003, AIG launched Automatic Renewal Underwriting, which assesses an account profile to formulate a renewal quote 90-to-120 days prior to policy expiration on qualified accounts.
The company also introduced iClaims, a document management imaging technology that electronically scans and routes all claim documents to the appropriate specialist, in their Primary Claims' workers' compensation offices.
Besides reducing the burden of paper and administration through electronic imaging, the system also provides a method of disaster recovery because images are replicated on a real-time basis at AIG's disaster recovery site.
The system will be based in Alpharetta, Ga., and Olathe, Kan.
