Zuraitis To Head Allmerica P-C Units

Allmerica said Ms. Zuraitis will be responsible for the personal and commercial lines operations at Citizens Insurance Company of America, The Hanover Insurance Company and their affiliates. Ms. Zuraitis also will serve as a member of the company's operating committee.

Frederick H. Eppinger, Allmerica's president and chief executive officer, said Ms. Zuraitis' "tremendous knowledge and skill will help us achieve our goal of becoming one of the best regional insurers in the country."

Allmerica said that while with The St. Paul, Ms. Zuraitis played a key role in the merger of The St. Paul Companies and Travelers Property and Casualty. Since 1998, she served as president and chief executive officer of St. Paul's commercial lines division, responsible for the company's small commercial, middle market, and large property and casualty solutions business units, including field operations.

Ms. Zuraitis currently serves as board chairman for National Council on Compensation Insurance. NCCI Holdings Inc. is a provider of workers' compensation data analytics based in Boca Raton, Fla. She is also a board member of the Baltimore-based American Skyline Insurance.

Allmerica's lead companies include Citizens Insurance Company of America in Howell, Mich., and The Hanover Insurance Company in Worcester.
