PIA Appoints New CEO

NU Online News Service, April 12, 3:42 p.m. EDT?Leonard C. Brevik was named executive vice president of the National Association of Professional Insurance Agents and chief executive officer of its for-profit subsidiary, PIA Services Inc.[@@]

The Alexandria, Va.-based association announced the appointment today. As executive vice president, Mr. Brevik will oversee the day-to-day operations of the association.

From 1989 to 2000, Mr. Brevik held a number of executive positions with the Independent Insurance Agents and Brokers of America and its subsidiary organizations. He was executive director of two IIABA subsidiaries, the Agents Council for Technology and Future One. He also served as IIABA's director of state government affairs, vice president of state government affairs, chief information officer and senior vice president of association affairs.

Prior to this appointment, Mr. Brevik headed Bak-Brevik Investments, a real estate investment firm.

"Len Brevik is the right person at the right time for PIA," said Carl G. Stoecklin, PIA National president, in a statement. "He is an executive whose achievements are uniquely related to the particular needs of PIA. Len has a breadth of experience and track record of accomplishment with other insurance trade associations that he now brings to PIA, to ensure PIA's long term success."

Mr. Brevik replaces Gary W. Eberhart who resigned in July of last year.
