First Advantage Acquires U.D. Registry Inc.

First Advantage Corp., based in St. Petersburg, Fla., provides various risk management services, including employment background screening (criminal history, education verification and reference checks), occupational health (drug testing), tenant screening (credit history, eviction actions and rental payment history), and motor vehicle reports. The company booked $166.5 million in sales last year, with net income of $2.8 million.

Commenting on its purchase of U.D. Registry, which First Advantage said is its largest acquisition to date, company management said U.D. Registry's client base and proprietary landlord-tenant data will offer enhanced resources in the Western United States and also add to the company's existing resident-screening services.

Akshaya Mehta, First Advantage's chief operating officer and executive vice president, commented on the deal: "As we welcome U.D. Registry in the fold and continue integrating related subsidiaries in our enterprise-screening segment, we're strengthening our services in multifamily housing with our ability to offer the most comprehensive solutions available anywhere."
