WMD Inspector Blix To Address CIAB Conference
NU Online News Service, March 18, 3:57 p.m. EST?Hans Blix, the former United Nations weapons inspector, and Michael Boskin, former head of the White House Council of Economic Advisers, will address the Council of Insurance Agents & Brokers April conference.[@@]
The CIAB's National Insurance Leadership Symposium is scheduled for April 25 and 26 at the Four Seasons Hotel in San Francisco.
CIAB said the focus of the meeting is bringing together all commercial insurance industry segments to focus on issues of global concern to business.
Mr. Blix, a Swedish diplomat, led the U.N. weapons inspection effort in Iraq from 2000 until the U.S. invasion of the country in March of 2003. He is scheduled to speak to attendees on April 26.
Mr. Boskin will deliver the symposium's opening address on April 25. He was chairman of the President's Council of Economic Advisers from 1989 to 1993 during President George H.W. Bush's administration. He is a senior fellow at the Hoover Institution and is T.M. Friedman Professor of Economics at Stanford University.
The symposium will also feature separate panel discussions by insurance company chief executive officers and insurance analysts discussing the industry. Peter Walker, author and director of McKinsey & Company, a consulting firm, is also due to address the symposium.
