Rep. Baker To Address IIABA Conference
NU Online News Service, March 31, 11:07 a.m. EST?Rep. Richard H. Baker, R-La., will address members of the Independent Insurance Agents & Brokers of America April 22 at the group's National Legislative Conference.[@@]
Mr. Baker is chairman of the House Financial Services Committee, subcommittee on Capital Markets, Insurance and Government Sponsored Enterprises, that has jurisdiction over insurance issues.
Robert A. Rusbuldt, IIABA's chief executive officer, said in a statement that the association supports the recently unveiled proposal from Mr. Baker and Rep. Michael G. Oxley, R-Ohio, for reforming state insurance regulation.
Others scheduled to address agents and brokers during the conference are Sen. George Allen, R-Va., chairman of the National Republican Senatorial Committee; Rep. Barney Frank, D-Mass., the House Financial Services Committee Ranking Member; and Sen. Don Nickles, R-Okla., Senate Budget Committee chairman.
The conference is scheduled for April 21-23 at the Capital Hilton in Washington, D.C.
