CPIA Renames Itself AIMS

NU Online News Service, Feb. 18, 12:49 a.m. EST?The Certified Professional Insurance Agents Society said it has renamed itself the American Insurance Marketing and Sales Society and adopted a new logo.[@@]

"We've embraced a new name for the society that clearly and succinctly reflects our focus on marketing and sales training," said Michael Grace, AIMS society president and commercial producer at Wright & Percy Insurance, Baton Rouge, La. "It also highlights our position as a resource to the entire insurance industry, agents, brokers, carrier personnel and trade associations."

Founded in 1968, the Richmond, Va.-based association, which awards the CPIA designation, provides sales training, networking and marketing techniques to insurance professionals.

To earn the CPIA designation, candidates must complete a series of three six-hour seminars and continuing education update's every other year. AIMS said its curriculum is approved for CE credit in most states.
