Brown & Brown Acquires Conn. Agency
NU Online News Service, Feb. 3, 10:44 a.m. EST?Insurance broker Brown & Brown Inc., based in Daytona Beach, Fla., has acquired Blumberg Associates Inc., of West Hartford, Conn., for terms that were not disclosed.[@@]
Blumberg is a retail insurance agency providing both commercial property-casualty and employee benefits products and services. The agency, with annualized revenue of approximately $2 million, serves clients throughout New England. Brown said the agency's operations would be combined with the firm's existing Newington, Conn., operations.
The transaction was completed Feb. 1, Brown said.
