Survey Names Guy Carpenter Top Re Broker
NU Online News Service, Jan. 14, 3:45 p.m. EST?A newly released survey of the reinsurance marketplace has ranked Guy Carpenter & Company Inc. as the top intermediary.[@@]
The survey, by Kansas City, Mo.-based Flaspohler Research Group, a provider of business-to-business research, was conducted from July to August 2003, with 287 respondents representing U.S.-based insurers.
The survey is held every other year in the cedant marketplace to gauge perceptions of reinsurance brokers in a range of categories, covering areas of customer satisfaction, ability to add value, market knowledge and expertise, as well as services and capabilities.
Guy Carpenter, part of the New York-based Marsh & McLennan Companies Inc., had also fared well in previous surveys, as pointed out by Rick Flaspohler, president at Flaspohler Research Group, who said this is the third time that the reinsurance broker has received the highest ratings in the Flaspohler survey.
Commenting on survey results, Sal Zaffino, chief executive officer at Guy Carpenter, said the company's role as intermediary is "clear and straight-forward?to help clients make informed reinsurance decisions that provide them with the best opportunity for success."
