Royal & SunAlliance Names Culmer CFO

Mr. Culmer will start his new role at Royal & Sun in about three months when Mr. Hance, is scheduled to leave the CFO post. The London-based insurance giant also said Mr. Culmer will become a main board director of Royal & Sun Alliance as well.

Royal & Sun spokesman Richard Emmott said Mr. Hance's forthcoming departure at the end of March had been announced last September

He said Mr. Culmer will have the "standard responsibilities of a chief financial officer of a quoted company--financial management, capital management and other duties of a CFO."

Mr. Culmer, 41, is currently working as head of capital management at Zurich Financial Services, based in Zurich, Switzerland. He worked previously as chief financial officer at Zurich's U.K. operations. Prior to joining Zurich in 2000, he had served at Prudential Financial Inc. of Newark, N.J.
