PIA Gets House Biggie For D.C. Confab
NU Online News Service, Jan. 21, 1:38 p.m. EST?The National Association of Professional Insurance Agents said the vice chairperson of the House Committee on Financial Services, Rep. Sue Kelly, R-N.Y., will be the keynote speaker at their legislative summit in Washington, D.C.[@@]
Ms. Kelly, who will address the group on March 25, is currently serving her fifth term as congresswoman from the 19th District of New York, encompassing parts of Orange, Dutchess, Rockland, Westchester and Putnam counties.
"This year, professional insurance agents are concerned about several issues Congress may address, including insurance regulation, said Carl G. Stoecklin, PIA president. "As a member of the House leadership and an official with the committee having jurisdiction over matters that concern us, Rep. Kelly's briefing will be of particular value to PIA members."
The 2004 PIA Federal Legislative Summit is a one-day gathering of PIA members to meet their elected representatives to discuss the issues of concern to independent agents.
