GE Frankona Re Combines Units

The company said its Marine & Energy insurance and reinsurance businesses and several of its Aviation units would be merged. Head management will be located in London.
The merger is still subject to regulatory approval, the company said.
GE Frankona said it also plans to combine its aviation businesses into one global unit.
Global Aviation will include the Aviation Direct, Aviation Reinsurance and Aviation Terrorism units. Head management would be located in Munich, Germany.
Robbie Klaus, formerly manager of Aviation and Marine reinsurance teams, is leaving GE Frankona Re after nearly 18 years with the firm, the company said.
GE Frankona Re, based in Europe and Asia, is a subsidiary of Overland Park, Kan.-based GE ERC, a GE Company.
