Gallagher Acquires London Broker

NU Online News Service, Jan. 2, 1: 20 p.m. EST?Itasca, Ill.-based insurance broker Arthur J. Gallagher & Co. has acquired Connor Hale Kerslake Limited headquartered in London, England.[@@]
Formed in 1995, Connor Hale Kerslake is a Lloyd's wholesale broker that places liability insurance risks in the London insurance market. The firm specializes in employers, public and products liability business for corporate and independent broker clients in Ireland and the United Kingdom.
Christopher McHale, Stephen O'Connor, the joint managing directors, Wesley Kerslake, finance director, and Adrian Butler, a director of the company along with the approximately 20 people of the Connor Hale Kerslake office, will continue at its current London location as a separate operation under the direction of Brian King, Managing Director of Arthur J. Gallagher (UK) Limited.
Mr. King added that the acquisition adds significantly to the firm's presence in Ireland and gives Connor Hale Kerslake client's greater access to insurance products than they had previously.
Terms of the transaction were not disclosed.
