Brokers D.C. Conference Set For April

NU Online News Service, Jan. 19, 1:29 p.m. EST?The Independent Insurance Agents & Brokers of America will meet with federal lawmakers at its 28th annual National Legislative Conference April 21-23 at The Capitol Hilton in downtown Washington, D.C.[@@]

The conference will provide an opportunity for agents and brokers to discuss issues with their Congressional representatives at the conference and during visits to Capitol Hill.

IIABA, based in Alexandria, Va., said that some of the top conference issues include insurance regulatory modernization, tort reform, passage of a flood insurance reform bill, and changes in the tax treatment of intangible assets.

The three-day session will include an in-depth issues briefing session, the annual IIABA congressional reception on Capitol Hill, and speakers discussing insurance and national issues of concern to lawmakers, agents and brokers.
