System Makes Volume Mailing Efficient
Hayward, Calif.-based Neopost has introduced a mailing system that it claims will allow an insurance agency with low-to-medium mail volume to enjoy the same technology advantages that large-volume mailing systems enjoy.
Neopost SI30 mailing system allows anyone to operate the machine without being trained and does not require a dedicated operator to run it, the company said.
Steve Young, document handling product manager for Neopost, told National Underwriter that the simplicity in working the machine lies in an eight-line main screen control system that allows the user to set up the paper type and documents to be inserted. The SI30 does the rest.
The machine can fold and insert 1,350 documents per hour into envelopes. The company says this is 10 times faster than performing this task manually.
The high capacity feeders, the company went on to say in a statement, require fewer loadings of mailing material and no need to monitor the machines operation. The SI30 also allows the system to continue running while being loaded.
The documents inserted into the mailing envelope can include an invoice, insert mailer and return envelope, Mr. Young said.
Neopost said the Secure N Feed technology incorporated into the SI30 provides the highest level of double document mailing security and virtually eliminates the risk of information being sent to the wrong addressee.
Mr. Young said that other mail insert machines rely on a light sensor to measure the paper. That sensor can be disrupted by dirt and dust, causing the wrong documents to be stuffed in the envelope. The SI30 measures the weight of the paper. If the paper is too thick, indicating two sheets of paper, the machine immediately stops stuffing until it is examined.
In addition, the machine can operate with the presence of paper dust and can accommodate any print density and a variety of paper colors and thicknesses, the company noted.
The SI30 lists for $3,695. A maintenance plan can be purchased at additional cost, Mr. Young said.
