Ebix Releases Bill Query System
Ebix.com Inc. announced the release of a new direct bill inquiry system that the Internet service provider said would give users access to the status of customers bills from carriers over the Internet within seconds.
The system, which was unveiled recently during Ebixs ARIAS user group conference, simplifies the direct bill status process by giving agents a single interface that provides access to multiple insurance carriers with a single master password and login, Atlanta-based Ebix said.
The system, working with Ebix.com systems, eliminates the time consuming steps agents must take to check on customer billing inquiries, the provider said. Rather than navigating through different carrier portals, using various passwords and logins, agents only need to log on to one screen and input the customers policy number to determine billing status through the carrier.
Barry Klein, director of ebixexchange for Ebix.com, said the provider has set up the portal system with 10 insurers: Safeco, Atlantic Mutual, Progressive, Encompass, Zurich, Grange Insurance, State Auto, Acuity, Ohio Casualty and Allied.
"This new system developed by Ebix.com makes multiple inquiries and calls to multiple carriers a thing of the past for insurance agents," said Robin Raina, chairman, president and chief executive officer of Ebix. "With our new direct billing system, agents will be able to quickly and easily access information in just seconds, eliminating the time and effort it takes to access this information by logging into multiple insurance carrier sites for different policies."
The service will be available to agents at an initial promotional monthly cost of $5 per carrier per agency, with a minimum fee of $25 per agency per month, said Ebix. Carriers will not be charged for this service.
