Endurance Announces Expansions
NU Online News Service, Dec. 12, 3:58 p.m. EST?Endurance Specialty Holdings Ltd. announced its expansion into the marine and energy business and the addition of accident reinsurance, a new specialty line of business.[@@]
The Hamilton, Bermuda-based reinsurance company also named key leaders for the expansion.
Paul Upton will join Endurance Worldwide Insurance Limited, Endurance's London-based operation, to lead the company's marine and energy business, including the development of global strategies, the company said. He will join in February 2004 from Advent Underwriting Agency.
The company also named Donna Peterson senior vice president, Endurance Reinsurance Corporation of America, Endurance's United States platform. She will lead the company's overall development of accident business.
"Endurance's strategy is to build a balanced underwriting portfolio and approach each business as a specialist," said Kenneth J. LeStrange, chief executive officer, in a statement. "I am pleased to have Endurance entering this line and happy to have attracted leaders whose experience, knowledge and client relationships, combined with endurance's strong balance sheet and technology platform, allow for positive growth."
