Kyoritsu Insurance Joins HLA Global
NU Online News Service, Nov. 25, 12:05 p.m. EST?London-based insurance broker Heath Lambert Group announced that Kyoritsu Insurance Brokers of Japan Company Limited has become the latest member of the HLA Global network of retail brokers.
The move, Heath said, strengthens its position in providing services to multinational companies.
Following the introduction of insurance broking into the Japanese marketplace in April 1996, Kyoritsu became the first insurance broker to be established in Japan when it commenced trading on the same day as the new legislation came into effect, Heath said.
Kyoritsu provides total insurance consultancy, advisory and risk management service, including risk analysis, program design, and the assessment and selection of insurance markets for both domestic and international clients.
In a statement, Mitsuo Matsuzaki, director and senior vice president of Kyoritsu, said, "We welcome this development and look forward to working with our HLA Global partners to deliver the effective cross-border programs our international clients require and to meeting the local servicing needs of HLA Global clients with interests in Japan."
Paul Welling, director of HLA Global, commented, "We are delighted that Kyoritsu has chosen to join the HLA Global network as its membership will enhance still further the service HLA Global can offer to its clients."

HLA Global is a joint venture between Heath and Chicago-based insurance broker Acordia Inc., a subsidiary of Wells Fargo Bank, which is based in San Francisco. HLA has members in 60 countries, Heath said, and offers a global service for the delivery of retail insurance broking services for multinational companies in more than 90 territories.
