IIABA Names Former AOL Exec As CFO
NU Online News Service, Sept. 3, 1:24 p.m. EDT?The Independent Insurance Agents & Brokers of America has named Steve Cocke as chief financial officer and treasurer.
"Steve has more than 20 years of extensive accounting and finance experience that was gained during his tenure with several highly reputable and regarded companies, most notably America Online," said Robert A. Rusbuldt, IIABA's chief executive officer, in a statement.
As CFO and treasurer, IIABA said, Mr. Cocke will oversee all fiscal operations and accounts for the non-profit association and for several for-profit wholly owned subsidiaries. He will be responsible for developing budgets, managing cash flow and investments, preparing financial reports, overseeing audits, forecasting profit and loss, and streamlining financial processes, IIABA said.
Mr. Rusbuldt said Mr. Cocke's financial knowledge will ensure the association "can pinpoint our resources to areas of the greatest need for our independent agent and broker members nationwide."
Mr. Cocke was formerly with AOL, where he worked since 1997 and most recently served as executive director of finance. Prior to working at AOL, he was CFO of Capital X-Ray Supply Inc. in Springfield, Va., and a senior accountant at MCI Telecommunications in Arlington, Va.
