A Name Change For Hilb, Rogal

NU Online News Service, Sept. 19, 12:00 p.m. EDT?Risk management intermediary Hilb, Rogal and Hamilton Company of Richmond, Va., said its board has voted to change the firm's name to Hilb Rogal & Hobbs Company.

Hilb Rogal said the change is immediate and will be submitted in the form of a charter amendment for shareholder approval at its annual meeting next May.

The company said its acronym and the New York Stock Exchange trading symbol remain HRH.

"We are changing our name, logo and corporate identity to reflect the talent and strengths of our enterprise today," said Martin L. Vaughan III, chairman and chief executive officer.

He added that the change is designed to recognize the strategic contribution of Hobbs Group to HRH and the equity of its brand identity in the risk management community."

Hilb Rogal & Hobbs Company is the nation's seventh-largest insurance and risk management intermediary, managing clients' risks in areas such as property and casualty, employee benefits, and other areas of specialized exposure.
