Sprinkler Software To SAVE Agents
NU Online News Service, Aug. 19, 9:53 a.m. EDT ? Atlantic Mutual announced the development of SAVE, Sprinkler Analysis Verification Evaluation, a new software program designed to save independent agents time and help eliminate errors in the evaluation of a sprinkler system.
The system, designed for use by loss control professionals and agents, allows for the quick evaluation of a client's fire sprinkler system and water supply. The result, the New York City-based carrier said, is more accurate loss control assessment and better protection of a client's property and business assets.
The program takes the loss control professional and client through all of the factors needed to evaluate a sprinkler system. It calculates sprinkler design, adequacy, pipe schedule capabilities, water supply adequacy for sprinklers and hose demand, two-inch drain test flow estimates, and in-rack demands. The software saves time in completing an evaluation by automatically plotting available water supply vs. system demand.
The entire process can be done on a laptop, and the results sent to an agent or client through the Internet in minutes.
Besides quickening the process, the software lets clients know if their sprinkler systems meet the National Fire Protection Association standards.
"One of our primary objectives was to speed the response time for this particular task so that agents would be able to respond to prospective clients quickly and efficiently," said Joseph Mayer, vice president, Atlantic Mutual Loss Control, in a statement. "We began designing the software about six months ago, and to our knowledge, we are one of a handful--if not the only--property-casualty company with this capability for the entire loss control staff right now."
