Nationwide New Management Team Named
NU Online News Service, July 14, 12:54 p.m. EDT?Nationwide Mutual Insurance Company's property-casualty and small commercial operations have been reorganized, W. G. Jurgensen, chief executive officer of the Columbus, Ohio-based company announced last week.
Stephen S. Rasmussen was named president and chief operating officer of property-casualty insurance operations. He will oversee three of Nationwide's p-c businesses–Nationwide Insurance, Farmland Insurance and Allied Insurance.
Mr. Rasmussen previously served as president and chief operating officer for Allied Insurance. He began his career with Allied in 1974 and has held various management positions. In 2001, he was named president of Allied.
Douglas C. Robinette was named president of Nationwide Insurance Operations, filling the post formerly held by Galen R. Barnes, president of Nationwide.
Mr. Barnes, whose retirement was announced in June, will retire Dec. 31 after 28 years with the company.
Mr. Robinette most recently held the positions of president of Nationwide strategic investments and executive vice president in the office of corporate strategy, where he served as chief strategic officer and led Nationwide's strategic planning functions. He has also held the position of senior vice president for claims for Nationwide. He has been with the company for 17 years.
Kirt A. Walker was named president for Allied.
Mr. Walker became regional vice president for Allied's Pacific Coast Regional Office in 1998. He has been associated with Allied since in 1986.
