HRH Appoints President To E&S Lines

NU Online News Service, July 1, 12:52 p.m. EDT – Insurance broker Hilb, Rogal and Hamilton Co., based in Richmond, Va., announced the appointment of Bryan W. Sanders as president of it's excess and surplus lines wholesale operation, Dominion Specialty Group Inc.

HRH noted that Mr. Sanders has more than 21 years of experience in the insurance industry. His career began as a casualty underwriter, and he has almost 10 years in account service and production for retail agencies, HRH said.

In 1995, Mr. Sanders became an excess and surplus lines wholesaler with production responsibilities. In 1998, he joined a wholesale brokerage division of Daytona Beach, Fla.-based insurance broker Brown & Brown. He was later promoted by that firm to president of its subsidiary, Mac Duff Underwriters.

Martin L. Vaughan, HRH's chairman and chief executive officer, said the company plans to develop an excess and surplus lines operation through acquisition activity and internal growth. He said Mr. Sanders' background makes him "the perfect choice to cultivate a strong excess and surplus lines facility within our organization."
