Jones Named Arch Insurance's New CEO
NU Online News Service, June 5, 4:05 p.m. EDT?Arch Capital Group said Ralph E. Jones III will join the company next month as the president and chief executive officer of its Arch Insurance Group.
The Bermuda-headquartered company said Mr. Jones would take on the responsibility of management and oversight for Arch's U.S.-based insurance operations. He will report to Constantine Lordanou, president of Arch Worldwide Insurance and Reinsurance Group.
Mr. Jones, 47, comes from Chubb Specialty Insurance, part of Warren, N.J.-based Chubb Group of Insurance Companies, where he served as chief executive officer.
At Chubb, Mr. Jones had also served in various senior executive positions, including chief underwriting officer of Chubb Insurance Company of Europe and worldwide manager of its executive protection department. Mr. Jones had also worked as managing director of Hiscox Insurance Company, the U.K. and European property-casualty business of Hiscox plc.
Arch Capital Group Ltd., with some $1.5 billion in equity capital, offers property-casualty insurance and reinsurance products on a worldwide basis through its subsidiaries, with a focus on specialty lines of business.
