PIA Names Adams President-Elect

NU Online News Service, April 14, 3:41 p.m. EDT? The National Association of Professional Insurance Agents said its board has picked Terry R. Adams as its president-elect for the 2003-2004 term.
The board, meeting in Arlington, Va., also elected two others to leadership posts.
Elected to the one-year term posts were:
? Mr. Adams of PIA of Oregon & Idaho. He currently serves as secretary-treasurer of PIA National.
? Ray L. Peretti of PIA of Washington & Alaska was elected vice president.
? Donna L. Pile of PIA of Kentucky was elected secretary-treasurer.
PIA said all the new officers will be sworn to office Sept. 7, during a board meeting in Milwaukee, Wis., and begin serving their terms Oct. 1.
The Alexandria, Va.-based association also announced that Elizabeth B. "Liz" Luce, of Cheyenne, Wyo., was named Person of the Year for 2002 by the Professional Insurance Agents Political Action Committee. She was honored for her outstanding service to the political action committee.
Ms. Luce is president and owner of the Rocky Mountain Capital Agency of Cheyenne, Wyo. In addition to her PIAPAC involvement, she serves on the PIA National Board of Directors representing Wyoming and is president of the Board of Directors of PIA Services Inc.
After meeting with the National Association of Insurance Commissioners President Mike Pickens, the PIA National Board of Directors unanimously adopted a resolution reaffirming PIA's support of a major NAIC initiative to support continued state regulation of insurance.
An April 6 resolution reaffirmed PIA's support of ASSURE, the Alliance for Sound State Uniform Regulatory Efficiency.
