Westfield Names Joyce CEO
NU Online News Service, Feb. 26, 10:19 a.m. EST?Westfield Group, one of the nation's 50 largest property-casualty insurance groups, has appointed Robert J. Joyce as its new chief executive officer.
Mr. Joyce succeeds Cary Blair, who will continue as the company's chairman until his planned retirement in August.
Previously, Mr. Joyce served as Westfield's chief operating officer and chief financial officer, as well as president of Westfield Management Company.
The new CEO joined the Westfield Center, Ohio-based insurer in 1996 and has over 25 years of experience, including p-c, life and surety.
Mr. Joyce pledged to maintain consistency and direction in the management of the company.
Westfield Insurance, which has over $2.3 billion in assets, conducts p-c insurance in 16 states and is represented by over 1,200 independent insurance agencies.
