PIA Conn., N.Y. Units To Rate Insurers
NU Online News Service, Jan. 3, 3:32 p.m. EST?Agents in Connecticut and New York will have the opportunity to evaluate the companies they represent in an online survey due to begin Jan. 7.
The Professional Insurance Agents of Connecticut Inc. and the Professional Insurance Agents of New York State Inc. said they will begin conducting a member survey to gauge agents' views of companies in their individual states.
The month-long study will poll independent agents about their opinion on such issues as companies' handling of claims, products, pricing, technology and marketing support.
Last year, approximately 80 agencies throughout Connecticut participated in the PIACT's first survey, returning 242 evaluation forms by mail or fax, of 16 insurance companies.
This will be New York's first survey.
PIA of Glenmont, N.Y., representing the two state associations, anticipates 35 companies will be evaluated between the two states.
The surveys will be available for the first time online at http://www.piaonline.org/cgi-bin/cgiwrap/piaonline/survey/showcompany.cgi.
