ACORD Selects Norman As Chairwoman
NU Online News Service, Jan. 6, 1:51 p.m. EST?ACORD's board of directors announced the election of Marilyn Norman as its chairwoman and Dave Findley as chairman elect for 2003.
Ms. Norman is senior vice president, distribution manager for Zuirch, U.S., based in Schaumburg, Ill. She previously served as chair of the ACORD planning committee. Her responsibilities at Zurich U.S. include managing the development of distribution strategies between the company's multiple U.S. business units.
Mr. Findley is senior vice president with Hartford, Conn.-based Travelers Insurance. He currently heads the commercial lines and personal lines operations at Travelers. He is the immediate past chairman of the ACORD planning committee.
The Pearl River, N.Y.-based insurance standards organization also announced that John Carmody, senior vice president with Seattle-based SAFECO, was elected to a three-year term on the board, after joining the board last year.
The organization also announced three new directors:
? Anthony Candito, chief information officer, New York-based MetLife.
? Tom Nowak, senior vice president, New York-based AIG.
? John Van Osdall, senior vice president, property-casualty, San Francisco- based USI. He will represent the Washington, D.C.-based Council of Insurance Agents and Brokers.
