Will Berkshire Hathaway Buy GE Re Unit?

NU Online News Service, Nov. 11, 4:25 p.m. EST? Berkshire Hathaway Inc. was reported to be discussing a possible purchase of General Electric Company's Employers Reinsurance Corp.

News of the sale talks was reported by the Bloomberg News Service, The Los Angeles Times, and Dow Jones Business News.

It was noted that GE Chief Executive Jeffrey Immelt has said that he would reposition ERC, a comment that some analysts took to be a precursor of a sale.
